Early+2 boot release

PostPost by: chrishewett » Wed May 15, 2024 10:26 am

We are getting towards the end of a very long restoration of our early +2. ( 1967 no.17)
Fitting the boot release cable and it wasn't originally released from the door as on my later car. Where should the release be?

I thought only Plus 2S from 1969/70 had the release cable.

My June '68 has a manual 'T' catch on the rear slam panel - is yours not the same?

As Jono said it's handle, same as an S3 Elan. They are like hens teeth. There is a small plinth on the body that the handle fixes to, do you have this?
The photo is car 551, March 68.

The cable is not exclusive to the S, it came with the newer federal style body.
