Hello,
Can anyone recommend someone good for looking at the electrics of a 1969 Plus 2 in South London / Kent / Surrey / Sussex? (Westerham to be precise which is in between J5 and 6 of M25)
It had been starting problems for a while, I had to jump start it and it was pulling down so much current it was making the jump leads hot and then melted the battery isolator switch - we changed the battery isolate switch and it did the same. A mechanic friend of mine thought it was either the starter motor or the electrics - he says a starter motor on the way out can pull down a lot of current).
If anyone knows an electrician experienced on Plus 2s (or knows much about this themselves) it would be very much appreciated
Thank you

Bet it’s a ground, motor to the chassis chassis to the back, chassis to the battery, such a big deal on these cars, Gordon

I've used PHil James - 07714 424596 who finished off the rewiring of my Plus 2 and did a really good job - mind you I think he was a traumatised by the end of it! He is mobile and works in the south east - I'm in North hampshire

I have a Lotus owning friend in East Grinstead who works as an auto electrician. I’ve popped him a note but I’ll need your contact details. DM me if you want me to take it further.
