Wiper motor hole

I think my hole is much larger as I can fit my hand through it. I think it was precut for mounting the pedal box for the LHD exports. The large steel plate under the wiper motor is covering it with a gasket to seal it from the passengers for well.
I'm going to cut a plastic piece to fit tight then fibreglass it in. Then use some stainless to replace the wiper mounting plate. I'll post a photo of the hole tomorrow, if I remember.

You should keep it really as it only appears on the early cars so from a historical pov its 'correct'. It should be closed off with a plate secured using 'Norfolk Nails'
I re painted my plate with wrinkle black and used a bead of sealant instead of foam to make it waterproof.

A good point. Maybe something effective to fill the hole the can easily be popped out later if required. My plate covering it was corroded like it had been sitting at the bottom of the ocean, so it needs to be replaced. But the evidence of water ingress is huge, so want to resolve that issue. Plenty of sealant or gasket options on the market.
