Mouse Farting....

PostPost by: faceman » Sun Dec 02, 2007 11:20 am

I am the proud new owner of a '71 +2S 130 and I'm delighted with her. Drove 300 odd miles in two days after picking her up from Paul Matty and she's a delight to drive.

However at one stage I had to take recourse to the horn as some w**ker cut me up on the motorway and as I stabbed the centre of the steering wheel it appeared that a tiny mouse farted somewher under the bonnet !!!

Tell me that the horns are adjustable or there is something I can do to beef them up, becuase what emits from my car at the moment won't have people jumping out of the way but more falling over in peals of laughter..

You may have a bad earth .Did you have any other electrical equipment working at the same time .Try the horn with a fully charged battery & the engine running and no other electrical equipment working

Also
What you could do is swap the horn(s) with those on your company car.....

Hi Faceman

Check the conections on the relay as shown in my picture and if you have the original Maserati air horns there should be a oiling hole as in the picture just pop some sewing machine oil in.

Hope this helps

Matt

What I do is pull the tube between compressor and horns then squirt WD40 down the tube into the compressor, leave it for two minutes to soak, run the compressor to eject the WD, then WooHoo!

BARP!! BARP!! GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!!!

...hopefully

I'm sure the horn worked perfectly before it left PM.

I had a little problem with mine in the summer - it was a poor contact at the button end. The contact design is a little suspect, but worked fine after a revamp.

However, I like Mark's idea best.
