Whar are the most recommended books for an Elan novise?
Know much on general Lotus and Europa and Seven, but nott to much on Elan +2S 130.
Would like technical books, and 'historical' books om the +2S 130 Elan (1972)

The factory workshop manual, parts book and handbook are pretty comprehensive, and available from Paul Matty (and others). They are often on ebay too. There isn't too much written about the Plus 2, but 'The Authentic Lotus Elan & Plus 2' by Paul Robinshaw & Christopher Ross (published by Motor Racing Publications Ltd) gives a good description of the design & development / timeline changes. I think it may be out of print, but try the UK parts suppliers...the authors are good friends of Paul Matty.
On your other subject, the car should have a VIN plate on the inner wing, showing the full number, the engine number and paint code. If you're missing this Lotus may be able to help if you just have the chassis number.
