We are completing final preparations for our trip from Calgary Alberta Canada to the upcoming WCLM in Cali. Our plan is to drive the ‘69 Plus 2 down the Oregon Coast, departing Saturday October 12. Our return route is purposely left open as we may be putting the M+S tires to the test if mountain weather closes in.

Anyone else travelling south from the Pacific Northwest? Not really expecting a convoy, but would be nice to stay in touch with other Lotus owners if our journey timing lines up. We already know of two other adventuresome folks heading south on the Highway 97 inland route thru Weed CA, which may be our preferred homeward option.

Can anyone suggest shop(s) in the San Francisco area, or alternatively closer to the event location in Clear Lake CA? We feel we are fully prepared for the roughly 3,000 mile journey, but it would add some comfort having shop contacts in our phones should we develop issues or need to get specialty parts drop shipped. We are planning a day or two visiting San Francisco after the meet.

Just curious, does the WCLM usually have a Long Distance Award? I attended in Bellevue WA a few years ago but can’t recall, and the Cali guys had a lock on any award for that event.

Anyway, wish us luck. Just bumping Khamai’s thread forward. Would be great to hear from any other Road Warriors as we get closer to the event. We are really looking forward to touring Napa Valley.

Stu,

Love this!!!

Yes, there will be a long distance award.

Shops - Spencer's Motorsport (Barry Spencer) is well equipped to help any issues with for a +2 and located in Livermore CA (east side of the San Francisco Bay Area). And, I believe Barry is planning to attend the WCLM.

cheers,
Kiyoshi
