2024 Club Lotus Castle Combe Meeting

PostPost by: trw99 » Sun May 26, 2024 10:24 am

Yesterday the sun shone and there was a huge turnout of cars for the annual Club Lotus Castle Combe day at the Wiltshire circuit.

Many friends were there, many regulars too. I have posted some of the rather few photos that I took. Hopefully others will have more.

I set off at 0500hrs from home for the four hour journey, the Sprint going very well. I avoided all motorways and went cross country there and back. Great drives and an enjoyable start and end to the day.

Yes an excellent day out, here's my favourite photo of the day depicting Malcolm Ricketts and Tim Wilkes, its' almost worthy of a caption competition :D

Malcolm had popped over to say hello and to let us know that his son Martin will be running his ever popular charity Barbecue event this year on Saturday 14th September from noon onwards at the usual location of the Old Dairy Barn, Wheathampstead.

My wife and I made a weekend of it travelling to Chippenham on Friday and staying over at The Stanton Manor hotel on Saturday night. My +2 Zetec did 366 miles on 8 gallons of petrol (45mpg) over the 3 days.
Kindest regards

It was a great day, weather was kind with a large turnout of all things Lotus.
I was stuck on the autojumble desperately trying to sell more than I was buying other parts for.
Saw a few familiar faces to chat to and made a few new friends.
Really enjoyable day.
