Caterham7 16Feb13 (15).JPG and

Two Lotus chassis for identification please.
I took this picture at Arch Motors about 10 years ago (when my Caterham was there for crash repairs). I can't remember the information on these two chassis. I'm told the bottom one may possibly be a Lotus Eleven?
Thanks

I know the bottom chassis is not an Eleven. Might possibly be a modified 23.

I'm gonna guess that the top one is an 18 FJ. I know it is not a 20 or a 22. Its too tall and square cornered.

If your Caterham is an early one, much like a S3 Seven, an S2 Eleven used pretty much the same front suspension. The S1 Eleven had front suspension using a Ford Prefect axle cut in half and pivoted at that mid-point and at the top corners, the is a triangular mount plate for the top of the front springs.

Thanks Roger.
I posted this query elsewhere also and the response is in agreement with you, the top is a18 FJ and lower is a 23.
