Crankshaft Pulley - Spring Washer?

PostPost by: EwanG » Wed Dec 13, 2023 11:00 pm

Simple question but I can’t seem to find the answer online or in my manuals. When I removed the crankshaft pulley to replace the water pump I removed a bolt, a spring washer and a thick spacer washer. I ordered a new pulley, new bolt and thick spacer washer from QED. Should I refit with a spring washer? As per image, new bolt is slightly longer too. Thoughts?

If the old pulley needs replacement just use the new pulley together with the original bolts and washers. If the old pulley is still ok return everything new back and reuse what you already have. If you don’t like the original English Wiley or GKN bolts I will gladly take them off your hands.
Regardless use a drop of blue Loctite on that bolt.
