Just became a Lotus Elan Sprint owner

PostPost by: Mroz » Wed Sep 28, 2022 4:29 am

Hello ! Just became a first time Lotus Elan Sprint owner. Always wanted one. Got it on Bringatrailer. Its extensively restored. Have'nt received the car yet.

I didn't want to go thru the resto work. Just drive it. Pharriso invited me to join Lotuselan.net. So here i am. A lot of good info on the site.
Thank you. Nice to meet!

Welcome from a fellow Sprint owner.
Pistachio is a fantastic colour for an Elan.

i was not a fan of the pistachio color right away. I thought of doing a wrap in racing green or red about the white. But now the color is growing on me. Its kind of a 60's/70's thing.

I certainly would fit in with the lambo crowd. I should go to a Lambo meet and see the reaction.

Im thinking now to be happy with Pistachio.

Congratulations on your new Elan!

The best part about owning an Elan is the joy of driving it. Explore the little roads nearby.

Best wishes,

Congrats- what a lovely car. Pistachio over white is such a great color combo for a Sprint-enjoy and let us know what you find out about the car as you run it. This site is such a great resource-lots of help given willingly, often with a bit of cheek.

Welcome.....appears to be a wonderful car.....now's the time to drive the heck out of it. As Mark above said, lots of good info here, everyone willing to help.....and that "bit of cheek" brings a nice twist to it all......Enjoy.

The color is growing on me. The car care products company Griot's used the Pistachio Lotus Elan Sprint 0295K as a Cover Car for advertisement. The photograph seems to get the hue right.

I had a few things checked on the Sprint before shipping and receiving. Their a a couple small cracks on the driver side rubber donut and a big tear on the passenger side.

I hear that the rubber donut quality can vary. Is their a specific manufacturer to buy high quality donuts??

The seller kindly said they will replace all 4.

Thank you

Most of us have gone to CV driveshafts for this reason.

You're likely to get better replacement doughnuts from RD enterprises or David Bean.
