Would Dad have really liked it, or is Clive rationalizing a bit?

Colin Chapman was not averse to driving big and heavier cars on a regular basis...., Ford Galaxie, Cortina, Mercedes, Bentley.

So I’m cool with it.

It does look like Clive’s been asked to go “on message” though.

I really hope it all works out for them, I really do.

I fear though that it is too much too soon.

I was at a launch show last week of the Emira, that sent doubts running through a lot of folk. The dealer admitted the Emira - with the old but well proven 3.5 Toyat IPS - will probably be in the region of 130,000€. We anticipate that this will be eclipsed by the new Cayman GT4 RS with the new 4Litre flat six from the GT3. OK, it is an extra 14,000€, but someone up at this level could/would easily add this, even on credit, for something with a Porsche pedigree.

Yes, SUVs are the way forward, but with so many around, is Lotus going to blow a hole anywhere? I guess we will find out tomorrow evening...

Wow!

Well, I was never expecting this! Hats off to Lotus, if you are going to do it, do it big!

So much though for Geely’s confidence in their UK subsidiary by building the car totally offshore…

Just as the guys in the factory pronounced the first Elite "the E-light" will this one be the E-letter? John
