Poachers

WTF is this:
https://www.facebook.com/lotuselan.net/ ... e_internal

Did any of the members on here set up this Facebook page, which erroneously describes lotuselan.net as a Renovation SERVICE and has poached the logo and probably other photos from this our forum site.

This king of rubbish detracts from the real lotuselan.net and though I found no suggestions that viewers should join this the real thing, the number of likes and 840 followers etc probably shows that a large number of potential members of this, the real site, have been diverted.

Good spot. A convenient gap in the name between Lotus and Elan.

I know some of us on here are also on the Facebook site Classic Lotus Elan and Plus 2 Owners.

Would be interesting to see who set this new one up.

You can suggest an edit to the description, in fact I just did to change it to Automotive. It doesn’t appear to be a group or advert in the normal way, just a placeholder or directory entry, no harm done as far as I can see.
Kindest regards

It makes me sad.

There must be people who think Facebook is the entire Internet.

Indeed.

On a positive note it looks like the item / link I posted has been removed.

I’m on this one. I think a number of other forum members are as well.

I use the same FB page and there are many on here that also use. Frequent cross posting. The ability to easily post pictures and the wide audience makes it attractive. The depth of detailed technical knowledge is superior on this forum and a bit less transient.

For some it is and this is a good thing...though there are times when I wish I had never invented the damn thing! :D
