Hello Everyone,
I received an email from Alex. He is no longer able to supply the window cable fasteners.
His health has not been good due to his prostate cancer.
If you get a chance, drop Alex a note. Battling cancer is lonely work.

Hi Jeff
That's awful news about Alex, I've sent him a PM but I don't have his mobile number although I thought I did.
Do you know if he still visits this forum occasionally? To be honest, I think we all miss his input greatly on this site and would love to see him post more.
I'll be thinking of him a whole lot more from now on and wish him the best of luck in his battle!
Thank you Jeff for bringing it to our attention!

Same here. I only met him the once - we had a cup of coffee together at a car show over in Malvern some years ago - but to find out he's suffering like this is terrible news. I don't have any way of contacting him directly so I'd just like to wish him the best through these pages. Maybe if enough of us do that here somebody can bundle the messages up and send them to him.

I’ve sent an email to Alex and suggested he may like to drop by here. Hopefully he will soon. He’s a good man.

I have heard back from Alex. Poor chap is not in a good way. His cancer has spread to his pelvis and he is about to undergo chemo therapy.
Jeff, Alex has entirely forgotten his login details (and I'm pretty sure he ain't the only one!). Can you kindly drop him a line to help him get back on here, please?
Several months ago Alex managed to get in a trip to Spain with his wife in their luxurious looking 'moho', which is, I learn, slang for motor home! He has not entirely given up Lotus and he currently enjoys an Elan M100.
We all wish him God speed and to get well soon.

Hi Guys..
I have no components or indeed the special taps to do the inner thread but for anyone stuck I will try and obtain the parts and the taps. M4 Dia' Coated with a Teflon like stuff. very important if going to have a go especially on a lathe. You will break the taps using the std hss type. Pretty well G'tee this. They just stick and snap. job is done. I have lost count on how many I have broken.
Hopefully, most will know that the income from the making of the fasteners went to Great Ormond Street Hospital to help the children get through their illnesses. The.do need the money. I am still sending them a monthly payment too. Hopefully happy kids.

Good to hear from you Alex, stay strong. Your rebuild thread from (far too many) years ago remains an inspiration. Glad to see you still have a Lotus fix.
