Colour choice

Ok at that point in my restoration where I need to choose the colour, torn on these red was original colour , grey one was a spider car what colour do people think ?

For me the blue followed by the grey, I'm assuming it is a metallic.

In the flesh my vote might be for the grey.

Red on that vehicle doesnt do it for me.

My only worry with the grey is I haven't sprayed metallic before,and not. Ire of my skills are up to it, do t really want this to be the practice car :)But I amass speaking to a sprayer who said it's not too differant

Personally I dislike red on the +2 (dispite mine being red) and in most cars. If original colors I think white looks best followed by lagoon blue (original color for mine).

For not standard colors the green shaun did his +2 really stood out and seem a few nice metallic greys.
'73 +2 130/5 RHD, now on the road and very slowly rolling though a "restoration"

You don't see many of this colour. My fav early +2

When I was picking color for my +2 I ended up with red which I really like, the carnival red is a very striking red unlike most other reds and I had just painted a metallic blue 65 Mustang and to this day I look at it and realize at some point I'm going to repaint it because there's definitely a difference in painting metallic and there's a streakiness and inconsistency in the way the flakes lay down that I don't like it. I've even seen that you can buy gravity feed guns that are the low pressure ones you can get now that have a mixer that is operating in the cup while you spray. I'm sure if I did this more regularly and with the top equipment I'd get it together, but I don't, and for those, I think metallic is a real challenge to shoot. You also typically shoot clear on top of the metallics and these early lotuses were never shot with clear. Gordon Sauer

For me my purist side wouldn't let me change the colour :roll: but i'd love a Lagoon blue (the bluer shade Lagoon blue without the silver roof)

Failing that i kinda like the Roman Purple without the silver roof as well. JimE 's car is a perfect example half way down this page lotuselan-for-sale-f2/ebay-sprint-t39061-15.html
