A good friend dropped off (dumped?) boxes of old Road & Tracks, Sports Car Graphics and Car & Drivers some time ago. While taking a break from working on the Plus 2, I grabbed one of the boxes and started going through the magazines.

The Road & Tracks from 1964 had a series of ads for the Elan, each one different for the years months. The same sort of ads in 1963 seem to cover the Elite. My son-in-law had given me a mounted copy of the ad, which had the Elan with a leash attached for a Christmas present a couple of years ago. So, out came the razor blade and the ads will be mounted and framed for more stuff to hang on the walls.

Now that's a really good friend, recycling to your garage/attic. Pictures on the wall!! I have a few from old MotorSport covers and my pride & joy is the July 9, 1965 cover of Time magazine.

What happened to GKN's Europa with the Rover (Buick) 3.5 litre V8 in it? That must have been a BEAST.

That was registered GKN 47D.
I think Rohan is right. I also understand that replicas have been built, on replica type47 chassis as well as other, modified Europa chassis.

Actually a few miles to the north in Massachusetts, this photo taken at KTR Motorsports in Ayer, Massachusetts where the bulk of the restoration was performed. My apologies for the dubious quality of the image.

I was close
All those mini states in the Northeast are the same :D . When I lived in Texas they were all just "damm yankees"

Rohan,
Yes, you are certainly close. Having been born in New England and living here for most of my life I take umbrage to the notion that our six states are homogeneous in character. :D However I have also been in Texas often enough to appreciate that there, New England is thought to be about the size of certain suburbs of Dallas, and a suburb that no right-minded Texan would visit at that. When in Texas I have always enjoyed the bumper stickers reading "US Out of Texas".

For a true Texican the only one of the six flags that have claimed sovereignty over Texas that they recognize is the "Republic of Texas" which is the current state flag.

All the other 5:
Spanish
French
Mexican
Confederate
USA.

They are mere interlopers
Texit forever
At least that is what I learned in the bars after work with the good old boys I worked with :D

By the way
The definition of a "good old boy" is that while he is driving he throws his empty beer cans into the back of his pick up. A "red neck" just throws them out the window on the the side of the road.

cheers

As an ex-pat Texas resident of 20 years or so, I agree with Rohan.
A lot of them fiddly New England states are like a good sized Texas county.

I think there is a small spread (read ranch) in North West Texas that covers something like 5 counties.

That said, San Bernardino County in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia is larger than all the states in New England other than the state of Maine, or New York, if you count that as a New England state. And bigger than any of the two others combined.
