Had a great time on Saturday admiring all the cool cars!
Got to meet GregZ, good to put a face to the name. Here's his Elan:
I've known Drinkman and his wife Pamela a few years, seen their Elan at home in the garage before, but it looks good out in the sun:
PS- that's their Elise right next to it.
Recent Loti too:
The national Sunbeam meet got attached to the event too; more Sunbeams than I've ever seen in one place before. These take me back as my dad had several of them when I was but a lad. This pic is fewer than half of the bunch that showed!
There was even a visit from Her Majesty!

Great pictures, Ben. Great seeing you there and can't wait to see your Plus 2 at one of the local gatherings.
And for more context, Greg's Elan is the reason for our Elan. We had discussing getting an Elan and only had it on our "someday" list until at a Caffeine and Octane, Greg let Pam sit in this Elan. From that moment on, it moved off the "someday" list and on to the "GO FIND A GOOD ONE!" list.
Here is another Elan (M100 style). At the risk of ridicule, I confess - I like the M100 Elan (not as much as our S2, nor enough to buy one):

Life is too short to drive boring cars or drink boring beers but not at same time

I can't wait to have it out someday, with any luck not too far in the future. Currently still working on the dashboard, which is coming along well.
I didn't know your story re: Greg's car- got a chuckle from that!

Also good to meet GregZ -we talked Lotus for awhile too! The Queen did a drive-by being led by her bagpipe band.
Just a perfect day.
