Tinkling Noise from Rear of Car

This noise had appeared in my +2 from 60 to 70mph in 4th gear (4 speed box). I then checked in other gears and it was related to engine speed from 3000-4000rpm. There was no noise when the car was stationary. It sounded like something was rattling - but what?
After much banging and thumping with my hand I gave the right hand boot floor a thump and ching ching! - there was that noise again. I traced it to the tools I keep in the boot - wrapped up in a plastic bag. By wrapping the bag in an old towel the noise was eliminated
So if you have an unexplained noise from the rear of the car, step 1 for me is to take everything out of the boot! My boot floor resonates and other cars may do the same - it could depends on how the exhaust is mounted, and I have an extra box in front of the standard rear box, with an extra mount.
Cheers,
Dave Chapman.

The strange noises I usually get from the front of my ?lan are either:
1)The keys jangling in the column ignition switch
2) vibration of the dials across the dash as the right-hand dashboard retaining screw works lose.
