How many spectators attend the BTCC races?
My bet is that for Donington this is the 2013 biggy surely!

Over 16k last year.
To access the circuit via the Paddock Entrance you will need a race ticket; you will then be directed to park in the first field.
Details of the event timetable not yet available, it might be a while before they are published.
Cheers,
Pete.

Thanks Pete,
those numbers are pretty convincing & my favourite way of accessing the show via the paddock entrance route being race ticket only is a double whammy!
The main reason for this is most likely the sloppy way that Donington treat event information on their web site.
It is always so very much our of date with entries for the coming season only appearing so very late.
Always been a source of frustration for me!
Cheers

Having read the feedback here and spoken to several of our traders it's obvious that any attempt to change the date would cause disruption, chaos and confusion so we're staying with April 20/21. This was my gut feeling right from the start as I was confident the traffic situation could be addressed.
I've now had a very good chat with Donington and they had already started planning traffic flows for both BTCC spectators and Club Lotus Show visitors. Needless to say it's obviously in their interests that there are no problems and things run smoothly.
It?s worth considering that handling an estimated 15,000 spectators in maybe 7,500 cars isn?t a major problem for a circuit like Donington. Think of the numbers at the Silverstone Classic not to mention the GP...
Donington have an established plan for getting race traffic off the road and parking them swiftly once they're inside the circuit. They will have plenty of marshals and all BTCC parking will be well away from our area.
We have not lost any of our regular amount of hard-standing parking space around the Exhibition Hall and had already planned with them how and where to park our visitors. Good signage will be in place and they're confident all traffic will flow smoothly from the motorway and there will be no major traffic jams at any time during the weekend.
We know from experience that parking is never a problem at Doni providing you have a plan and sufficient marshals before you start! I'm confident we have both so please don't stay away because of a hypothetical situation that will not exist.

Vassilis, yes we`re well and should be at Donnngton on Saturday for a while so see you there.
Gareth, a motor club from Marple named after a pub ???? can`t remember, used part of one of my tulip routes and ended up at the fabulous Miners Arms where judicial traffic management (me) arranged parking. They enjoyed it so much, even though weight of numbers plus the usual busy Sunday meant a wait for food.
This year they`re doing part of another route I did which they`re picking up at the bottom of Long Hill in Whaley Bridge. I can post you a copy, are you at the same address which I`ve also forgotten?
