NEC Classic Car Show 2012

Not a massive Lotus content at the show, here are a few cars, some of which may be familiar to some of our members.
Apologies for the colour-drift, I have tried my best to correct but the NEC has about seven different types of lighting and is one of the most difficult places I have worked.
Not a real 26/R but a very nice car.
Lotus Coptina
Suspicious Minds...
Avon Sunbeam Lotus.
With your indulgence, below are some of the cars I was asked to photograph by clients.
Dino 246
Lamborghini x 2
Ferrari 330
250 Lusso
F355 + self-portrait.
250 SWB
If anyone objects to the non-plastic content, I can remove them.

Is it ok to post the pic on our forum (promise no other use)?
Some of the best stuff really needed searching out in the much bigger (and better) show. By all means use the photo, please just give a credit to http://www.petetaylor.org.uk

Grrrr 246 Dino.... My Favourite looking car of all time....
Not that many years ago I remember lying in bed and pointing to a Dino advert in a Classic car mag and saying "Thats a snip at ?40,000, what do you think".....??
Five minutes later came a reply which was too bad to even contemplate writing, needless to say I'm sick as a parrot .....

A bit off topic but in one of the better known books on the Europa & there is actually a photo of a Europa fitted with a glass fibre shell made from a form from a Dino 206.
It was once up for sale & I made an offer on it but the then owner/builder decided not to sell.
I later saw it at a Club Lotus track day at Castle Combe & it really was lovely.
To be honest a well sorted twincam will be plenty fast enough & a lot cheaper to service/repair etc. than the Ferarri/Fiat lump.
IMHO the Dino is still one of the sexiest looking cars ever.
No doubt someone on here will have all of the information about the Dino Europa
Cheers

There were more Elans than the last few years which is always good, strange though, they did not put the Lotus clubs together, I nearly missed the Club Lotus stand after finding the LDC exhibit .. Great show in general though.
Nice photos

Well I've tried to avoid the rush for further info' on the Dino Europa & done a search in my "Library" for it.
The car is fairly well covered on pages 92 & 93 of the paperback book "The LOTUS EUROPA derivatives & contemporaries 1966 - 1975
"An Enthusiast's Guide & Pictorial Review Paul Robinshaw & Dave Francis"
There are a number of very nice photos of the car but unfortunately all of the photos in the book are black & white.
The very cleverly built car was done by a clever guy called David Mirylees.
When I spoke to him he told me that the person who loaned him the Dino 206 for the moulds had insisted that only one such car should be built-------------a true rarity & I'm still smarting at not having been able to buy it.
If you're out there David, I hope you're well & that your back is no longer a problem for you.
I'd love to see you & your car again soon.
Cheers
John

Hi John,
Just browsing thro' the web and came across your mention of my Dino-Europa.
To bring you up to date, back is now just fine
The car is also fine and getting quite a lot of use - now really magic to drive having sorted the tyre sizes out many years ago and having the Twink rebuilt in the 90's by QED to BV & unleaded spec.
Info and pics here: http://www.lotuseuropa.org/gallery/DinoEuropa (the last image is the most recent)
