Lotus Elan

Donington Historic Festival 2011

PostPost by: Iyarno » Fri May 06, 2011 1:08 pm

Just thought I'd share a few photos from last weekends Donington Historic Festival.

Only 2 Plus 2's including mine, 1 Elan, 1 Europe, and 1 Esprit. Where are all the other classics hiding? Defiantly worth the effort for 3 parade laps of the park.

Mine was mostly hiding here (local village do with car display)... shame I missed Donington.

Looks like there's a bit more shine on your Elan. They do look great in white.

After I endured 2 blow-outs heading up the A5 on seemingly original tyres, I really couldn't be bothered cleaning the bugs off the windscreen. I'm learning the hard way.

I was there on the Sunday but 4 of us went in a Healey and an XK so it would have been unsociable to travel seperately in the Elan. The racing was excellent but the non-racing interest was rather lacking, not quite Goodwood !

Pete, really......... you know I`m more of a Dandelion & Burdock than a Bollinger sort of bloke but the sheer effort put into Goodwood is commendable. Anyway, aren`t you the spiv who goes around flogging nylons?

I wasn't expecting a Goodwood with tickets at 15quid per head.

It was my first visit to Donington and thought the circuit was fantastic. Just a shame they ran out of cash and most of the infield looks like a building site.

Thanks - a good spring clean to get the winter grime off and a good polish worked wonders, it still scrubs up well as long as you don't get too close for too long!

Amazing how big the SLS is compared to a +2 - mind you it is slightly quicker

At least it's a Merc. I lost mine between a Fiesta and a Smart Car in a hotel car park. I'm considering a bright yellow flag for the aerial so I can pick it out before I start to have a mild panic attack and think it's been stolen.
