Bodywork Repairers in North East

PostPost by: GEORDIE » Thu Jan 13, 2011 6:03 pm

Hi Guys
Last evening my Plus 2 had rather intimate contact with the rear of an Audi A3, as a result of this I may need a good bodywork repair shop. Is their anyone out there can recomend one in the North East of England. I look forward to your informed responces.
Cheers Geordie

Speak to Brian Stanners at Formula 1 (Lotus dealer) in Newcastle - he recommended a firm to me who they use for fiberglass work but I can't recall their details

Hi everyone,
Well the insurance co. have written the car off, so can anyone recommend a good supplier of replacement body sections, as I am going to attempt the repair myself.

Geordie,

Sorry to hear about your accident. My S3 started life in your part of the world and, that too, had suffered the same fate !

For a reference point (and I have no connection) SJS Sportscars list repair sections here:

http://www.sjsportscars.co.uk/index.php?mod=10

If one of the "standard" sections will cover your needs, OK.

However, I believe Boss Motors (Norwich) will make sections to suit a particular damaged area.

Without seeing the extent of damage it's hard to advise, but there have been complete bodyshells on ebay like these at the moment. Maybe a more cost effective route?

Good Luck - rd

Bad luck Geordie

I do know that Lotusbits ( http://www.lotusbits.com/ ) have a +2 bodyshell front end but I cannot remember if it is a bonded screen type or the earlier type although it may be of some help.
