Classic Le Mans 2006?

Any UK clubs going to Classic Le Mans this year? I have been to the last two, but with a motley crew of petrol heads in assorted machinery (including a nitrous injected Chimera). This year I thought I might take the +2 and take it easy! Past years have been a real blast, with assorted mechanical dramas, but hugely enjoyable. I was really impressed with the Club Lotus France turnout in the club park and wondered how I can an entry pass.
Over to you mes amis!

PS see the +2 shaped tent in my gallery!

Hi Jeremy,
I am going on the thursday in my +2. I think about 25 cars and 50 people are going from the north yorkshire and lincolnshire clubs on the wednesday. Tickets have been obtained from the french club by one of the lincs members who has a house there. I am not sure how you would get tickets now that would get you into the club parking.
Did the guy with the nitro chimera ever get the bonnet open? I was there with my brother in his 5litre chimera.
Chris

We got the bonnet open after going round a roundabout at speed & the bonnet unlatched itself... No other dramas in the TVR on that trip, but recent engine work showed up massive chassis rot... He says its time we took the +2, scabby or not!
We will probably also be setting out from Portsmouth on the Thursday 8.30pm ferry. A tip for anyone else driving to Le Mans, take the smaller roads & enjoy the drive!

I am going with the Grand Touring Club again this year. I will be taking my S4. GTC have arranged all the tickets which includes a paddock parking pass so that I can park up with the French Lotus crowd.
If you can not get in with any of the Lotus clubs give GTC a call http://www.grandtouringclub.co.uk/
Look forward to seeing a good LotusElan.Net turn out

Cheshire Lotus Owners Group are going: we are booked on the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Caen on Wednesday July 5th and returning overnight on Monday 10th.
Camping in Maison Blance but as an invited Club we have a display slot on the Bugatti Circuit too.
anyone want to travel with us or just socialise on site, you will be welcome.
Cheers,
Pete.

At the moment it looks like I have an engine that works like it should ( running like a dream) and no other major problems so I am now allowing myself to believe that I am actually going to the classic! ( Please all keep fingers crossed).
My brother and I will travel down on the 07.00 speedferries on thursday. We are staying at Thoire-sur-dinan south of Le Mans. If anyone wants to pm me I will give them my mobile number otherwise we will be parking with the french lotus crowd.
I look forward to meeting up with some of you next week.

Point of order Chris: as I understand it from the organisers, Club Lotus France will be parking with CLOG (Cheshire Lotus Owners Group).
See you there,
Pete.

Sorry to be a turncoat, but I will be in a TVR again this year.... At least we are next to the Lotus enclosure.
Keep an eye out for a Blue Chimera with a Very Tall driver & less tall (6' 4") passenger (me).
Staying in a hotel miles away from the circuit..
Maybe next time in the +2...

Christian.
I really wish I had been there but sadly not. Was at Le Mans three weeks ago, but sadly couldnt get a second pass from the boss. I'm sure I speak for a few here that we would like to hear your views on the event and the lotus contribution to what must have been a fantastic event.

Seems like next time we have all got to get our S*** together.
I met up with Christian "World Famous, Old English White" see the photo in the Elan gallery. We were parked in the Lotus section inside the circuit.
Did all you guys there not venture to this section, the 15 or so members from Nyloc were all in there, and made very welcome by Club Lotus France.
Having said that it was an absolutely fabulous meeting with so much to see you could be forgiven for not getting there.
