What did you do to your Lotus today...

so far: Carb fiddling, had to twist 3/4 shaft slightly to synch, may need to recheck float levels & hoping the webcon pump really didn't need a reg as well... handbrake adjustment & temp mod to add another return spring ( new tree required over winter....) and a slight can cover oil leak  new gasket in stock for when I drop the oil and check the clearances.

More chance of it getting a coating of actual clay rather than me using a claybar

Don't see me parking mine up just yet as enjoying it but each to their own although it hasn't even seen the wet yet the devil in me is waiting for a touch of snow

My experience driving with the quiet lockdown roads was that the handful of drivers who were out there were somehow paying attention less than normal as everyone seemed to have their cell phone in hand. I can count on two hands the number of near head-on collisions in the scant 200 miles I put on my Elan during that time due to inattentive drivers slowly meandering into my lane on empty back roads.

Unfortunately I think the bad habits picked up while the roads were quiet are still here and possibly getting worse.. I can watch for the odd one of two but every SUV driver and white van seems to have my demise in mind

Just part way through sticking some DRL behind the grill to aid being seen by the SUV brigade.. Currently rigged to the side lamps until I get a dimming unit fitted.. See if they make any difference

Even though the sun is out and I am having a Day off I am waiting till the school run is over before I venture out this afternoon.
I felt safer as a driver or pedestrian when the schools were shut but then again I feel that when I drive the Mondeo which seems equally invisible between 8am and 9:30 am and 14:30 to 16:00

The one and only thing that has made me questioning owning this car has been other drivers. These cars are just so small and no one sees you.

Yesterday I went for a test drive with half a tank of fuel, round tight left and right hand bends.

Result was great, with no fuel spillage. :D

This was after I finally got round to machining an adapter to take the MX5 one way valve.

Difficult to see in the photo, but in the adapter there is a groove, this is to secure the MX5 one way valve to click in with its 3 ears.
The adapter is a slight drive fit in the Original fuel fillet tube.

Sorry no.
The difficulty is getting the MX5 non return valve.
I was lucky in that I got mine off a forum member who had a spare one.
That forum member is the original poster of this topic.

Mr Bonus - One thing you can do as mentioned elsewhere is fit LED bulbs all round and LED driving lights behind the grill. Makes a great difference to your visibility to others.

Got my DRL connected and fixed behind the grill so hopefully that will improve things. LED lamps upgrades now added to the to do list.

Took my '68 Plus 2 for its shake down run - I took it off the road in late 1986 to sort out 3rd/4th syncro......

Now, basic engine tuning before running in, rework exhaust to be closer to underside, last bits of trim and then we're off.

Driving lights - here are mine - actually LED motorcycle lights as they are small and waterproof. Note also bright sidelights!! :D

I don't mind the S4 body work and would happily have one but the rear lights are not to my taste.. It wouldn't put me off owning a 4 as you can't see the back lights from.the drivers seat. :D

Mind you did you ever see the arse end of a series 2 Evante?
Should have gone to spec savers.

Finished up the installation and adjustment of my new dampers (AVO) and springs (12 in, 115 ft/lb), replacing some unadjustable, totally shot Armstrongs. Seems like a big improvement. Sourced from DBE.

Note - if you call them to order these, make sure to ask about the tool to adjust them. Apparently they assume that you already own one... If you don't, it'll be another $16 shipping, and about two weeks shipping in the Covid age, if you get one from them...

Will try them out on a trip to Eureka Springs, AR, tomorrow.
