What did you do to your Lotus today...
My V5 says my +2 is an Historic Vehicle and Road Tax exempt so why wouldn't I take advantage of that have free Road tax?
As far as I am concerned my car is MOT and Road Tax exempt and I was merely asking if the Insurance company was requesting the vehicle be MOT'd before they would insure it?...Or by inference were intending to load the premium if not MOT'd?
Alan.

Ah sorry, got my wires crossed. RichC's post implied he was taking it for an MOT and I was trying to point out it wasn't necessary. As to insurance, I read my policy carefully and it is worded like this: Vehicle must have a current MOT where it is a legal requirement. Which in this case, it is not. Obviously YMMV, so wise to double check with the insurer.

It runs better with carbs also
cheers
Rohan
Indeed I figured I'd fit the M/C to 5 way union brake pipe first and then put the carbs on.
I followed your advice on engine sealants and so far it's been oil tight, but then it hasn't run yet

+1 for using the period hose clamps
-1 for the hoses connecting the alloy pipe to tank and engine
I'm more a margarita person
I got the hoses from Clivey Boy when is was in business. Do you know where I can get more period items?

Radiator header tank needs a little more panel beating.
Strangely enough I haven't touched the rad. It's virtually a one owner car with no accident damage. It makes me wonder if Lotus had bonnet clearance issues.
