Fixed a leak from the oil pump front cover. The O-ring had flattened in the 10 years since I last looked at it, so I used a spare Weber intake O-ring which fitted just fine.
I have Stromberg carbs so I accumulate Weber O-rings from engine gasket sets!
So worth checking in that area if you have a leak, as it's such an easy job.

The only 2 parts which didn't get a full overhaul last year on my +2 are the diff and steering rack.
The diff, with new bearings and seals has been fine, but to me the cars steering has never been what i thought a lotus should be.
Engine is out at the min so took the rack out and stripped last night.
These parts have been degreased by the way. The pinion and bushes are completely shot, think stick in a bucket, rack has wear from the pressure plate, but also surface corrosion, pinion has corrosion on the teeth and some big grooves around it.
Bit remiss of me not to do this last year, lesson learnt.
Off to look at a second hand spitfire rack tonight.
At least i can expect an improvement.

Bought some Kawasaki ZX9R carbs. Nice clean low mileage set for ?125
Need Danst alloy inlet manifold next and going to swap out Dunnell ECU (locked up) for a Nodiz.
Looks like I may be able to fab' a cold airbox from the same bike airbox. The car is heaviy modified anyway so no worries. Danst have a rolling road so will take it there for final set up.
Looking forward to the challenge. I can always go back if not happy.
Merry Xmas

Tried a Nodiz on mine Mike. I wasted 2 weeks of my life with that POS, it just wouldn't work with my QED trigger wheel / cranking speed / firing order or whatever, company wasn't the best helping out, when they'd ran out of the standard very basic faultfinding they stopped responding to me and i eventually had to go through paypal / ebay to get a refund. I swapped every part including the ecu and in the end deduced it was an issue with their software / programming.
Bit the bullet and swapped for an Omex 600, same hardware and it worked instantly. Yes it was twice the price but its injection ready and very, very well supported. Omex / Emerald also do ignition only units and have a good dealer network.

That's a shame, i had only heard good things about the Nodiz. I will dig deeper.
I have a Ford standard flywheel pick up on a Dunnell flywheel.

You might be alright then? Like you i did plenty of research and it was that or megajolt at the time. One thing with megajolt is that there is a big online community, i think i would have had more help with my issues if i'd gone with that.
My local tuners, Northampton Motorsports, don't like either and try to avoid them, they won't even use their own computers and insist the client bring their own loaded with the software, having said that they are Omex dealers, so have in interest.

3 days before Christmas, a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the Northeast, I was setting up battery tenders on my fleet. But what the heck, why not take the Sprint for a ride? Glad I did! cranked off miles of tonneau cover on, heater on, sunny day driving. Had to pump the tires up a bit since the cold winter air always brings them down. Ran great, never skips a beat. I forgot to wear my Santa hat though!
