Discovered a problem with the wiper circuit. Dead short popping the fuse.

Made a stab at the heater box. Has rust perforations and the motor mount will need re-fabrication. Now looking for thin centrifugal fans with modern motors attached to modify.

Made a dash in teak, a process fraught with potential catastrophe along the way. Hopefully next the jigsaw will plunge in nicely and cut a glove box door without wandering too much.

Drove it to work today, first real outing since getting it back together after engine out to fix a bad gearbox leak (rear seal). While out I also replaced the sump gaskets with hopes of eliminating some significant oil leaks.

Tonight, a few hours after parking it, I must admit to being pretty darned happy about the result.

We'll see if I can solve this, too, but I can certainly live with it if not.

Worked on the red S1 and then drove the blue S1 around in autotune for some refinements in the fuel table.

Car checked over, wheels back on with new Yoko A-050R medium compound tyres and car on trailer for racing at Sandown Historics in Melbourne next weekend .

Weather looks wet so new tyres will help. I also have a new set of soft compound A-050's but dont want to use them until I get a bit more neggy on the front end but maybe in the wet they will be OK, We will see what the race weekend presents

cheers

Had a lovely 4 hours changing my handbrake pads today. It would have been easy if one of the pivot pins hadn?t been left half in jamming the pad. This was the pad with no meat left on it so had been like it for a while, and the reason I was changing them anyway. So it was off with the calliper push the pin in properly and all is sort of fixed. I did make sure the bleed nipple would open so I can bleed the brakes tomorrow.
Typical of this car - every little job turns into an epic and I?ve still got to get the horn working....

I have spent the last couple of days playing with camshafts and shims on my S4 to get the correct clearances. Finished the exhaust side on the second attempt. Awaiting some shim sizes that I didn't have in stock to do the carb cam. All good fun if it goes without a hitch!!

I love this thread! So I was at work today but went to the local car show this morning in the Graphite Elise. Some wonderful cars there including Greg Z's beautiful Red Sprint. But my mind is continually on the new addition, the S2 26R. Cannot stop thinking about it. So this evening went to the basement and just laid my hands on it. I'm not much into naming cars or projects but maybe I should start so here goes, ..........
...... The "Canyon Carver"!

The journey begins!

Famous Frank, that is a cool name. I have also named my 26R project, the Blue Bullet seems apt as it will be the fastest Elan in my hill climb championship 8) , all it needs now is a better driver

Fixed a split in the headlight vacuum hose at the manifold take off. Loud sucking noise and a horrible idle!!

I had that on my s3, it really got on my nerves. You couldn't drive it slow because the revs were never constant!

Yesterday and today. I took the screen out of my early +2 and fitted and new seal. All back in today. Not been brave enough to put a hose on it to test it yet!
Cheers
