Let the pictures do the talking.
'Or a Lotus'
Yeah, but I already have one of those! If your talking about a Lotus Twin Cam engine, then no again!
Great in a 1967 to 1970 MK1 escort, but not in the MK2
BDA, would be 1st choice,
James

BDG in a Mk2 James! There were a few RS1800 cars at the AVO Nationals a few weeks back. Most were trailer queens which don't do a lot for me.
My car, which won 'Best Twincam' at last year's show, was sat next to an ex-works Twincam for the day, which won the show this year. It was XOO 243F, the first works rally Escort built, and it came 2nd on it's debut rally, the 1969 Acropolis, driven by Roger Clark,
A truly awesome machine. Makes my ENO look very plain-Jane!!
Some photos for you, James.

I am fascinated by that photo.
Do you see that light coloured coachline from under the headlight to the rear of the car.
I have some photos of my car passed on from the previous owner showing it before it was painted in 2006 and they show a very similar line along the side.
I didn't know what to think of it until just now and there is another one.
Mine is a blue S3SE drop head and looks a dead ringer for that one except for the gold bumper.
Has anyone else seen one of these and who was doing it. I had assumed that mine was a personal thing from one of the many owners.

Eric
Walk into any car accessory shop in the late 60s, early 70s and anyone could pick up a role of stripe tape and apply it anyhow they wished to their car. All sorts of colours and believe me, all sorts of ways to apply it to your Cooper, Anglia, Sprite or whatever. Its an old photo of a Sprint, now restored.

Thanks Tim,
Just a `go faster ` stripe then. I remember them. It just seemed to be a co-incidence.

Car got first prize! Ok there was only a few cars and the "Jury" somehow decided mine was better (may be the "go faster double stripes"!!) than a much more original brown +2 and superb Europa. Still was delighted to bits!!
