What did you do to your Lotus today...

Passed an MOT Test, no advisories. I could have applied for exemption but have decided that I like the reassurance of having the car independently checked over once a year.

Took my shell to Competition Motors, Portsmouth NH, to begin the painting process.

I also flocked my glovebox.. mostly pleased with result.. small glitch where I removed rust from a rivet and treated it but didn't prime.. the glue doesn't seem to have covered it well and so the flocking hasn't stuck... Have to decide whether to try a small localised fix or ignore it... Unfortunately I know it's there but I also want to drive the car this year....

Thanks Bob! It's Aston Martin Caribbean Pearlescent, it's a DB 4 colour.

How about some photos of your new paint job?

Fitted some new front dampers and uprated springs. Result, no more crashing and bashing and a much more comfortable ride. The old springs had settled too much and just bound up if you raised the spring perches to get clearance, the new springs are +2 specification, the dampers are Spax.

I fitted the toad skin :D

Thank you for all your kind comments.

Alan, hope the new front dampers do the trick.

It's a great color Rob !

Here are a few photos of my car at the shop. Parts are going on the back of the Elan first, so that's where it looks best.
I might get the wheels painted the same silver color as the bumpers. The body color is Porsche Signal Orange from the early 70s.

FABULOUS! I love that colour. I always wanted a Sprint in Colorado Orange, was that the same colour as Porsche Signal Orange?
