Engine dies suddenly.

Here is an update.
I removed the rev limiter from the ignition system, I removed the battery brain & checked the carbs diaphragms. I started the car yesterday & let it warm up for about 20 minutes idling in the driveway with not problem. I drove around the area for almost an hour with numerous stops & hard acceleration, I had no problems with it suddenly dying.
Unfortunately because this problem has been intermittent I don't think that I really proved anything. Winter is coming here so I guess I will have to wait until the spring & see what happens next year.

FYI: I have had a battery brain on my car for 5+ years and not experienced any issues. I suspect if it was related to that you'd see a lot of other electrical gremlins.

I agree with you about the battery brain, I've had mine on for 10 years since I finished my restoration. I just disconnected it as a test.
