661, Yes of course, even the pictures of the original cars had bumpers that didn't match the decals. Personally, it would wind me up so much i'd paint them on to make it all match, that's why I would like to start with the right colour.

That's great, Thanks!!
If possible can you take a couple outside? (one quite close)
Here we are then, hope they are of some help. The bumper that’s currently on the car was painted 10 years ago, for reference. All photos taken with my iPhone.
The original bumper does look like it’s faded from when it was originally on the car. I’ve tried to include the areas that were not visible once it’s attached. The middle part was dark from all the years of exhaust staining, so I’ve ignored that really.
I’ve tried to hold them alongside each other to allow for lighting differences. The shapes involved makes it difficult to see the same part of the bumper in the same light at the same time.
Hope they help.
Regards
Richard

Perfect, Thanks again.
It's an odd colour, it seems to have a real dark cast to it......... it some lights it looks a sand colour and in others, it's almost brown.
Just while i'm thinking on, do you know who supplied your side decals?

Just thought i'd put this here.
So what you see here is Left 2k Talbot aztec (with and without Clear applied half and half), Middle is Cellulose Talbot aztec and right is Sue Miller decal samples.
Not sure if you can see from the picture but this is Sue Miller decal Left is clear coated and right is as it comes out of the packet.

Larry,
Do you know what paint manufacturer they used to paint your bumpers? the problem when it's custom tinted in a different country we often don't have the same mixing scheme even from the same manufacturer.
I have run my sample through our spectrometer and it picks up the dark cast too much, so the end product doesn't have the sand colour to it (i just get the a darker gold colour a bit like Richards's first picture). Opalescent colours for you, i am not bad at mixing direct gloss colours up by eye but when they have that much flip/cast it's tricky.

The car was painted by Miles Wilkins but I don’t think they were ‘his’ stripes as he was muttering about them being too Matt, as I recall. He mixed his own paint, but to what reference I can’t say. He did have to repaint the bumpers though, as he said it came out too green to start with(!)
All good fun.

Richard

Spoke to a friend who's a quite serious Talbot collector today, did you know Talbot went out of business in 1958 and didn't start up again until 1979...... Unfortunately, my colour library only goes back to 1970 so if it was an older version of Aztec gold it may be lost to time.
