I agree with you Graeme. The Elven article is amazing, Made me so jealous
I have a friend with a similar car, no original vin plate but sufficient info to make it original, he wants me to buy it and I want it off him. Once the 26R is finished, I'll get it (if I can afford it  )

Are you guys trying to wind me up :D , Or are you missing the fact that two members of this forum took the time and trouble to be featured in the current issue. Laying their cars bare for criticism and delectation in equal measure?

3 Elans featured on the front page of an international magazine and not a peep of support or derision received from anyone here.

What?s a Lotus Eleven?
Kindest regards

I am very sorry, the Elans where fantastic. I love that brown plus 2, it was so cool.
Sorry for not mentioning them before but I was just adding to a previous comment.

Peter,
My post was very tongue in cheek! Please forgive me for seeming tetchy :D

Sometimes the things we do for our hobby and most favourite automotive marque seems to be a thankless task. Getting up at 6am to battle with Rush hour M25 traffic to sit around in a pub car park for hours on end with just the reward of a Tesco?s sandwich and a can of Coke is not my idea of the glamour of owning a Lotus Elan.

The Eleven article was very good, and I enjoyed reading about it, the Absolute Lotus magazine as a whole is a very good effort for a single marque publication.
Kindest regards

Hello Spyyder fan, I can understand your pain. We have done many things for no reward in the name of Lotus, but that is the way it is and if we didn't love it, we wouldn't do it.
I know the moment my car is finished, it will face terrible scrutiny on it's appearance and I imagine, I will not be the only one fearing this. The cars in the magazine were presented very well and I think that you were a lucky man to have your car right in the foreground. Keep a copy of the mag with the car, it's a good thing to show people!
Here are some photos of my little beauty in it's current state.

The interior is mostly there, the dashboard has not been veneered yet and we have not fitted our genuine 26R Wheel.

Well, for my part I laugh in the face of scrutiny of my car's appearance, and tweak the nose of the spindly killer fish - I mean, "the provenance brigade".

The cars are for driving. You'll have great fun, Peter.

Alan, I couldn't agree with you more; it was a tremendous article and I loved reading it. In fact, it made want a Lotus IX and I had not considered them before.

What Elans?

??????...no wonder you are a fan. Persuading them to shoehorn a duratec in. Great improvement on the Zetec. I really enjoy driving it in a Caterham.

PPS , take a spin over to E'bourne and say 'ello.

Graeme,
We need some Autumn sunshine for a loop or two around Beachy Head. Maybe get some other locals to come along?

The beachy head loop is my favourite road! If I was closer, I would come!
