Good move! They're saying 7 - 11 inches of snow Wednesday.

I need to get mine out today or tomorrow, fuel up, and throw some fuel stabilizer in her.

Just took the car for a nice long spin. Good news, adjusting the crankcase breather eliminated that weird oil leak I was having altogether. Went to get gas and saw a puddle of fluid underneath and freaked out, turned out it was from the prior car, not mine.

Car is driving like a gem but some jerk backed out onto the highway as I was coming towards him and had to slam on my brakes and was fortunate no one was behind me.

The wife has been pushing me to sell it considering we have a 2 year-old at home and she's getting tired of hearing me have "near misses" in it. Mulling sadly listing her, but struggling to pull the trigger.

Stop telling here about the near misses....

And remind her it's better than having another missus. :D

Hah, I've had more hair raising incidents with the Lotus than any car I've owned. I had an old lady in front of me flag down the mailman going in the opposite direction and have a conversation in the middle of a two-lane road, right over the crest of a blind hill! I started hitting the anemic little horn as she ignores me for about two minutes while I start to sweat.

As a matter of the car's story, the prior owner sold my uncle the Volvo P1800 that he died in two years before I was born, and I've always wondered if it had it in for me.

Removed the radiator to carry out a simple task on the right hand bracket work ..... And opened up a can of worms :(
I feel some questions to the tech forums coming on.

Ouch, that is a seriously corroded front cover!

Perfect job for JB Weld no problem.

If you JB weld, I would add an inner sleeve first. Clean the inside of your output, add some JB to the outside of the sleeve and inside of output after you sand/scuff matting surfaces. Also clean up the sharp edges of the pump output.

I'm guessing that's not the only corroded part, but if it is, I'd try Alumaloy or an equivalent alloy brazing product over JB Weld. I'm also guessing the JB Weld suggestion was in jest. :D

Tried to do some electrical work today and found that I'd left the ignition switch on a couple of days ago. Yellow oil is coming out of the coil now. Damn.

All of my 'old' cars get a battery disconnect, mounted to be accessible from the drivers seat. And I always turn them to off when exiting the car.

Here's the one in my S1, with removable lever for additional security.

I really want to install one of these. Due to the relatively tight battery spot, the normal switches I use don't fit comfortably.
