As a Yorkshire man couldn't you manage a cricket cap?

I'm still wearing bobble hats sans bobble.

The baseball (Rounders :D ) cap is colour coordinated BRG with ACBC badge....
A blue YCCC would just clash

Was also worried that a flat cap would blow off & tempt the whippet to leap from the car to give chase....

Have noticed that lockdown 2 shopping trips appear to be getting longer

Oh no, confusion in Lotus literature.. The workshop manual says sump.. :D

I would normally pop down the pub to work out such a conundrum but we are unfortunately denied this option of old fashioned social media

Can't believe a sump pan causing controversy. Particularly with a great set of uprights beside it just awaiting trunnions and grease.

Thanks Rob.

A six bolt crank sump is about the most valuable thing on a twin cam so it deserves some detailed discussion over a beer or two. Trunnion greasing versus oil is just hot air discussion you bring up when you feel like upsetting those whose oil their trunnions

If I'm not mistaken that appears to be a 4 bolt sump.

Indeed it is a 4-bolt/rope seal, Joe, a backup for my Seven whose sump has clearly been in a few "scrapes". Maybe not as valuable, but just what I needed. Acquired from one of our esteemed lotuselan.net members.

Hi
Swapped over the passenger seat for the drivers seat to share the wear and tear, drivers side is showing signs of nearly 50 years of use.
I can manage the backrest adjust ment ok

Quite pleased with the result

I went for a drive in the countryside. Started first turn after about 6 weeks and the first time i tried the chokes on my bike carbs. Only needed it for the actual start. Overall pleased with them. Staying in balance and very even running through the rpm.

I have a mix of gear oil and moly grease in my trunnion gun

A wet morning unfit for much, so spent some time cleaning up hubs, axles, and uprights before putting them away for a future project. Always rewarding to get old rusty bits looking the part again.

Has anyone had an oil pan gasket fail? I’m noticing a decent but not terrible oil leak and it seems to be coming from somewhere near the alternator bracket with some oil buildup on where the sump meets the block.

It may just be my cam cover gasket taking the long road down but it’s so hard to tell where it’s coming from and I’m at a loss.

Not uncommon for oil to be pushed out of the dip stick pipe.

"Not uncommon for oil to be pushed out of the dip stick pipe."

Only if you have an over pressurised sump. Rings?
