BRM elan for sale

There’s two elans in this auction a BRM and a S4

Second time this year that this car has come up for auction. It was discussed previously on here.

There is a mistake in the description, which I have notified the auctioneers about:

"... left the factory on 3 October 1969. .... The Elan’s history file includes a letter from Tony Rudd certifying that the engine was a B.R.M. conversion supplied to Mike Spence Ltd, and his belief that this was the car that Mike drove when he visited Tony in 1968."

Tony Rudd was mistaken, since the Elan being auctioned left the production line a good year after Mike Spence's death. Mike could not have driven the car, ever.

I think in this day and age of spin and lies, where poor folk are eating dogs and cats from the streets, it no longer matters :D Jim Clark certainly never ever drove ‘his’ Elan that had a far higher price tag :lol:
