We had a scammer show up in the forums last week.

Username: hyuuuttr645

Based on research, this is a known scammer. Do not engage or try to purchase any items from this person.

I had placed a wanted ad on this site some weeks ago, thn out of the blue I received an email to my private email address and not through the forum from this guy. It means he somehow got hold of my email address or is a member of the Lotuselan.net community.

How was he identified as a scammer and should he be removed as a member.

He made one poorly-worded post about wanting to learn about the Lotus Elan. Then shortly after that he PM'd me in response to my ad in the Parts Wanted section and gave that dodgy-looking email address, saying contact the guy at that address, he has the part you need. The combination of those two things seemed very suspicious so I did a simple web-search on the email address and it got mentioned as a scammer in another car-forum. I then mentioned as much in the thread he started about wanting to learn about the Elan.
