Faulty ebay part

I have bought a screen washer pump from a trader on ebay with 24hr service
It's not the best, contacts too close together. +/- not marked , inlets/outlets not marked, but although the motor runs it will not pump.
After emailing them and two replies they insist they must have my reg.no. I just said it's a '71 Lotus.
The question is WHY? It just makes me suspicious.
Thanks in advance for any ideas John

I would not waste any more time with it. Open a NOT AS DESCRIBED / FAULTY case on ebay. The seller will have to send you a return label for it, new thing on ebay now. Job jobed.
I have a new working washer pump if you still need one. Send PM.
