Beachy Head “Loud” meet up Tuesday 9th August

Following on from another topic I am arranging an informal meet up at Beachy Head which is a scenic part of The South Downs above Eastbourne in East Sussex UK.
Why do we call it “Loud”? It’s basically down to an autocorrect or typo where another member of these forums (Elan Peter) referred to the scenic road that runs over the downs as a “Loop” but his device changed it to “Loud” which we all thought was very apt for one of the great driving roads in the UK.
It’s a very informal meet and here is the suggested agenda
10:00-11:00 meet at the main car park adjacent to the Beachy Head Pub. There are public WC facilities here.
11:00 - 12:30 drive the loop, visit the viewpoints including the Bomber Command memorial https://www.iwm.org.uk/memorials/item/memorial/68934
12:30-14:30 find some lunch, most probably at The Tiger Inn East Dean (on the loop) there is free parking here
14:30 onwards, drive East to Sovereign Harbour Yacht basin for afternoon tea and ice cream, there is free parking and WC facilities, there is an Asda supermarket with a petrol station within the retail complex next to the basin.
At the moment we have the following members confirming attendance
Adam Mills (PastaPesto) with his Sprint
Tim Wilkes with his original DHC Sprint
Myself with my S4 special “Kermit” DHC Duratec engined Elan
My brother “Fast Freddy” & Paul Alexander (Elan66) driving my +2 Zetec “Isabelle”
Most likely attending awaiting confirmation
Graeme from Eastbourne (661) with his S4
Paddy from Brighton with his S1 Elan
I will add postal codes for the car park, The Tiger Inn and Sovereign Harbour nearer the time, the main car park is chargeable, but your ticket can be reused up to it’s time limit at the other stop off points on the loop (I think…. Will check), East Dean for The Tiger Inn is free parking as is Sovereign Harbour.
All are welcome, it’s very informal, but it would be great to know who would like to join in. Please reply to this topic and add your name along with your car.

Just a quick bump of this topic.
The weather is looking really good for Tuesday 9th August, it's forecast as Sunny with a moderate breeze 27 celcius ( 80 fahrenheit).
If you are anywhere near Eastbourne and want to give your Elan a run then come and join us at the Beachy Head car park post code BN20 7YA approx 10:30 - 11:30 and do "The Loud" (Loop road)

Final bump!
Looking forward to seeing people and driving some Elans over the South Downs tomorrow. The forecast is sunny with a high of 26 degrees C (79 F), absolutely no chance of rain all week, so it's a top down day for my S4.

12:30-14:30 lunch at The Tiger Inn East Dean (on the loop) there is free parking here I have booked an outside table for 10 people, we have 8 confirmed, I'm sure we can squeeze more in.
14:30 onwards, drive East to Sovereign Harbour Yacht basin for afternoon tea and ice cream, there is free parking and WC facilities, there is an Asda supermarket with a petrol station within the retail complex next to the basin.

Yes, weather looks great.
Unfortunately I shall not be in my Sprint. It appears I have a fuel delivery problem which I have still not yet got to the bottom of. I have just spent several days exhausting any potential ignition problems. The attached photo is of Sheik al-Elan, basking in the sunshine and not going anywhere.
However, I shall be chasing you all in the XK!
See you tomorrow, chaps!

Apologies I had to scoot off.
Any pics?
Great to see you Graham, thanks for bringing the race car!
I took a few pictures and will post them up later when I can get to my desktop, but it was a very enjoyable day, quite low on numbers but that’s the danger of organising a weekday meet in holiday season.
Elans present were my s4 special, my +2, Adam’s S3, Simon & Julia’s M100 and Grahams lovely S2 26R/GTS. Tim unfortunately has ongoing issues with his Sprint, so he was forced to bring one of Mr Chapmans favourite marques an XK Jaguar.
Lunch at the Tiger Inn on the village green was very pleasant and the ice cream at Sovereign Harbour was good too.
Apparently Sherlock Holmes retired to East Dean.
Kindest regards
