PostPost by: dougal cawley » Mon Mar 12, 2018 5:23 pm

Hi

there is some great news for early Elan owners. at last there is a decent tyre in the size 145HR13 made by Pirelli and it is a Cinturato CA67, https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/catalo ... gory/2618/

the same model of tyre that was fitted to the Elite. Here is a picture of mine.

So are they going to make a 155HR13 for the later Elans?

Besides the Firestone F560's (P rated) on Coker's site, which other options exist in the US for 145R13 tires?

Realizing this may merit a separate thread - "U.S. sourced early Elan tires".

The new/old Pirelli are made in Pirelli's super dooper Turkish factory where they make their F1 tyres

I don't think the F560 is actually an old tyre is it? i don't think they are actually made by Firestone either.

If you are in the States you need to get in touch with Lucas Classic Tyres https://www.lucasclassictires.com/Pirel ... to_c54.htm I've got my delivery today and the American stocks are on their way to the States now. so i guess they are nnot even on their web site yet, but they will have them in a week or 2.

they are very sweet https://www.facebook.com/longstonetyres ... =3&theater

I love driving on them on my Elite they are so precise.

Yes, Lucas Tire handles the classic Pirelli line:

They may not have all sizes in stock but would be worth a call.

Has someone experiences with this new tyre? I'm looking for tyres for my elan S3 (original 145 R13 fitted). Between this Pirelli new tyre and the Michelin XAS FF, which is the best option?

Regards

Diego
