PostPost by: tedtaylor » Sat May 13, 2017 10:41 pm

anyone going to LOG37 with us on the northeastern Lotus caravan?
the NY/NJ/PA contingent (PALS area) has a northern route (Rt 78 to Rt 81) and a southern route (Rt 295 / Rt 95) converging at Winchester, VA (Rt 7 / Rt 81).
We are taking 2 days and stopping off to do the "Back of the Dragon" Thursday morning with expected arrival to LOG by Thursday evening.

I welcome any South Jersey Lotus to leave with me Wed morning at 9:00AM from "TaylorMadeClassicCars", my residence in Haddon Heights, NJ

contact me! :)

Well we're leaving for LOG37 tomorrow morning. I'm sad to say only one vintage Elan (Bruce Allen's S2 DHC) is in the caravan. My Elan Sprint will be staying home since as much as I would love to drive it down the 2,000 mile round trip (and I feel confident it would make it without issue), I'm just too nervous about it and really don't want to knock up that kind of 70 MPH highway driving mileage on it. As such, i'll be driving down my other Elan (M100) which i won't even blink an eye about driving.
See you at LOG!

Wish I was going but I'm in Munich at the moment.

Have fun Ted.

Disappointing turn out of Elans for an annual national Lotus meet IMHO.
there were two Plus 2's, two S2's, and maybe four S3/S4/Sprints?

On the other hand Ted, it was great to meet you and Ross Robbins and Lotustastic (can't recall his name) and Stu Gilmour and to hang with my local pals Famous Frank and GregZ.

And those two Plus 2s are only the second and third ones I have ever seen in the flesh.

Sure, more Elans and Plus 2s would have been nice, but it's really the people who make an event and everybody I encountered was great and I had lots of fun.
