Search Youtube for 'laser cleaning' and you'll find all kinds of examples.

A couple of months ago, I witnessed, what appeared to be some sand blasting of patio furniture in the driveway of a home near my mother-in-laws, by a commercial company. This bothered me as there were a number of cars parked nearby, which could be damaged by the flying sand. Upon walking down, to get a better view, I discovered the blasting media was dry ice. By the time the media had hit the furniture, and done its job, it had turned to a thin fog. Not withstanding the added CO2 to the atmosphere, what remained on the driveway was minimal dust. Of course this got me to thinking about how effective/damaging, it would be to a car body. Has anyone explored this method of paint removal?
