Yes I saw that Elan, In a posh garage in the Evening Standard.

You have just reminded me that I intended to point it out to my friend.

Here are the photos from the online version of the newspaper

You might need to step through the images to find the Elan

Here's the article:

Can't see who it belongs to as there is no front grill & numberplate.

It's all absurd designer-madness of course.

Love the fact that the picture with the Elan is the only one which has a bloke working on his car. They've obviously found something out about Elans.

Phil,

Quite a few S3 Elans have bolt on wheels, especially the Super Safety variants. In fact, I've only ever seen one SS with the turned in eared spinners on K-O wheels.

Since I've owned my SS for over 40 years, I've always been on the look-out for others and try to help other owners w/ the peculiarities of the model.

I hope to have it in the infield at the Daytona 24 race in a few weeks. Any other Elan owners going?

My garage has never been that clean or organized. Clearly there is no real work going on in those garages. How boring

Amen! After 40 years of working on race cars, and now restoring several "than run of the mill" cars, the floor paint is wearing/flaking/ground off from all the dropped tools, spilled fluids, dribbled paint, and walking on the metal chips from the mill and the lathe. Some half done projects are taking up room on the welding bench, work bench and about any horizontal surface that is available. But, it still feels like a well lived in home. However, about a year ago, I did manage to paint the walls and the cabinets with a fresh coat of white paint.
