Why it's worth it

A beautiful day in the South East of England yesterday. I have some time off so what better way to fill an hour than go for a spin.
My local roads are a mixture of awful surfaces and decently fixed ones. I have some country lanes with good visibility, the motorway is not too far away if I want to check out some sustained high speed, or some narrow tracks where you really don't want to meet a tractor going the other way.
This is why I think an ?lan still works so well in modern conditions for a classic car. Stuck behind traffic on a narrow road ? Fine. I'll trundle amiably along behind until I find a clear bit. Want some entertainment ? Clear stretch - give it some revs, nice noises & capable handling, brakes & grip. Bumpy surface ? It soaks it up.
So for those of you whose car is currently in pieces - and I salute all of you who have skills much greater than mine - keep the faith.
It'll be worth it.
Regards
Richard

After several weeks of Non-lotus related tasks, was able to take the Sprint for a run and give it a damn good clean.
Not looking too shabby...

Quite a few of us were at the Oulton Park Gold Cup on Sunday, however the weather was much worse today and I reckon there were only about six there (ashamed to say that I went via modern transport).
Cheers,
Pete.
