No mention/evidence of chassis number at all?
If this were a serious sale; much more provenance would be required.
Kit-car repro is my guess... I'm often wrong.
Thank heavens for the Historic Lotus Register.

I asked the type 23 Registrars in the Historic Lotus Register, here's the reply:
...this car is one of three, possibly four cars claiming that identity. It is known to the register as 23-s-126a and it was previously owned by Kim Baker who bought it from Bill Hollingsworth who in turn bought it from Tom Yeager. It was Green with Red wheels when I last saw pictures of it but it has recently been repainted in Gulf colours by the current vendor who purchased it from Kim around April 2014 as far as I know. Sadly the current owner asked for lots of information from the register via a friend when he bought the car but never bothered to send us any of his information so I cannot discuss the car with him directly.
None of the cars claiming to be 23-s-126 have a complete history, but this car has a little more than the others. Sadly however the history it does have it is not supported by sufficient evidence to allow us to accept the car as being authentic. We therefore currently classify it as Amber, which means we can neither confirm nor deny it?s authenticity. This doesn?t mean it is not a real car, it just means that there is not enough evidence available to the register to confirm it.
