Good afternoon everyone,
I'm a new member living in the S Worcestershire area. I'm a retired GP (almost!).
I've owned a S4 Elan DHC (1970) since 1993. The car was written off in the mid-80's after catching fire on the M6 and the residual bits were stored in Weymouth until the car was restored fully between 1992 and 1994. I'm about to replace the starter solenoid and found the forum very helpful indeed when troubleshooting - thanks.
More recently I bought a 1972 yellow over white drophead Sprint which was fully restored in 2010. I'd be keen to chat to anyone who owns a drophead Sprint.
Best wishes
James

Welcome James.
You won't regret retiring!
I've had my S4 SE DHC since 1986 and am also MRCGP ( most definitely retired).

Welcome James from another fully retired GP!
I’ve owned my FHC Sprint since 1982. Bought it when I was a House Officer (as we were in those days). Probably wouldn’t get insurance at the age of 23 these days, wasn’t an issue back then.
Nice to have more time for tinker with the Elan these days, but retirement does bring other pleasant distractions - gardening, grand children and more time for holidays!

GP = General Practitioner
For those across the pond, the closest analogy would be Family Doctor.

Thanks. I did actually guess that as the term isn't unknown over here, but figured I'd learn something if I was wrong!

Hi James
You're not far from me in S. Herefordshire. There are a few of us around... so if you get stuck I can visit with a spanner...
I'm restoring an S4 DHC at the moment by the way. Retired IT consultant.
Cheers
