Hello everyone I'm a new member

Hi I'm a new member. I work in the maintenance sector and am a time-served toolmaker/jig fixture maker by trade.

I'm currently constructing a TC to fit in a friend's Mk1 Escort. Before getting into old vehicles, I was a member of the Westfield brotherhood and had built a few engines.

Thus far, I've found the forum to be a really helpful source of knowledge and guidance.

Mk1 Escort is the ultimate Meccano set for grown ups. The sky is the limit with what you can do with them and parts interchangeability across models and aftermarket supply of uprated parts for them is still incredible 55 years after they were first produced. Even in base specification they are a fun and enjoyable car to drive - don't let the simplicity of design and rear axle cart springs fool you. Check out Gordon Murray's Mk1 Escort for some inspiration. Never sold in the USA so interesting your friend has one.
