Hello everyone, I’ve just joined and want to introduce myself as instructed. I’m looking to finally realise a life-long ambition and own an elan before it’s too late. I’ve raced a bit and owned some nice cars but never a Lotus. I’ve loved them from a distance since watching my uncle build a 7 in the early 60’s.
At the moment I’m planning to do my homework and learn as much as I can which is why I’ve signed up.
I’m a retired anaesthetist. I thought that I’d done with classic cars a few years ago and got hooked on cycling. However, I’ve got the bug again.
Thanks for having me. Sorry if I’ve not got the hang of forums yet.

Hello and welcome.
I know what you mean about the itch, so yes you should scratch it! The Elan in all its forms are are great choice.
Do your homework and buy carefully. Having said that I rarely do. Its all part of the journey and fun.

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Hello Jerry
Welcome to the forum
Is it an Elan you want or does that include the Plus 2 as well.

At the moment it’s a +2 that I’m looking at as a joint project with my brother

The Plus 2 is a wonderful car (and that's from a Sprint owner).
You say you want a project. Does that mean a restoration project.
Plus 2's do not command the same money as the two seaters so if you are restoring one you have tighter budgets if you don't want to over spend.
