Hi,
Just a quick note to introduce myself. I recently purchased a 1970 Elan S3.5? It has S4 arches etc but S3 dash and interior.
The last Elan I owned was an S4 40 years ago which I sold to fund the £2000 deposit on my first house. I bought this one for more than I sold the house for!
I was a bit apprehensive driving the new Elan home from Southampton to Kent as I was warned against revisiting my old heroes. However, I loved every second of the journey (apart from 5 minutes at a junction healing and toeing with the clutch in on a hill!).
The car is basically sound with a lot of money already spent on mechanical items. I have a list of 30 mainly small jobs that need doing. Fortunately, I'm one of those people who love to tinker and make things better. I see it as part of the fun of classic car ownership.
I'm a 64-year-old Chartered Mechanical Engineer with a decent workshop at the bottom of the garden (currently occupied with a 1964 Triumph Tiger Cub Trials bike and a 1970 T100 road bike)
I'm sure I will be trawling though the archives and asking numerous questions in due course.

Hello,
Car looks great. I am recently back in the Lotus fold, but +2's are my thing, though I do appreciate all the varieties.
I'm in Beckenham Kent, are you nearby?
All the best

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.
