Greetings all. In 1983 I bought a 1971 Elan Sprint, red over white, drove very well but had a dodgy respray. In 1985 I put it in a garage with a firm promise to 'fix it up' one day. That day appears to have arrived, and I know I have a lot to learn.
I have already benefited from the knowledge in this forum, and hope to glean more as my 'fixing up' progresses.
I'll try not to bore anyone with detail - that comes later, no doubt. I have discovered that she had a rebuilt engine fitted by Vegantune 2 years before I bought her, and a new galvanised chassis before that. All looks reasonably sound - except the paint job. and so it begins....... I'll be talking to you as the scraping continues, and look forward to sharing my trials.

Don't worry Tony, you will not bore anyone with your story. In fact, most would be very annoyed if you did not tell it here, we love a rebuild tale from start to finish. Try to upload some pictures, makes for a much more interesting read. Thanks for joining the board.

I had a girlfriend in Radipole when you were tucking your Elan away in 1985. I used to travel down from London at weekends in my Sprint. Happy days.
