Hello - my car!

Although I bought this car two weeks ago, I have only taken delivery today!
This is my first venture into Lotus, from my previous years of TVR, Mini and MGB where I messed around with, lost money with and not very successfully, club raced and hill climbed. I got tired of them and here I am!
I am a compulsive messer, so originality is lost on me! This car will always look like an Elan, and will retain the Twinc (is it Twinc or Twink?) engine, but will have some modern touches added - already shopping for EFI bits. So if I ask any blingy questions, just bear with me please!
This car cried out to me because the first cigarette I ever smoked was of course a Gold Leaf! - If it was OK for Jim Clark, then it was the way forward for a young lad with stars in my eyes It is a bit shiny, yes, and it has a gawdawful roof, but maybe I will get used to it. I was going to have it covered in, but decided in the end to spend the money on EFI bits.
Regards
Hal

Hi Hal,
That looks a nice and very smart car you have bought! As you say bit shiny but then I guess that it is because been recently done in basecoat/clear laquer?
You say originality is lost on you, but I hope you won't mind me suggesting that maybe you lost money previously on your TVR's, MGB's etc.through not keeping them original? Most people when looking to buy a classic car want and like to see originality I know I certainly do, so my take on it would always be on a road car if at all possible to keep it as close to the way it left the factory as you can.
Having said all that EFI throttle bodies can be bought that look like Webers if you really must go down that route.
Whatever you do though I am sure you will enjoy it which of course is the point of it all!
Cheers,
Alan.

Thanks Ted! I am not going to ask why k and not c
Yes Alan, it is base and clear. Maybe unnecessary, but that is what it is!
I do hear you re the originality bit, but I am afraid, a committed messer Its in my psyche I think, and yes, you are dead right, lost money on 'em all (except a 970 Mini, and then only because the engine is as rare as the proverbials!) But the aim is to have some fun which I think will come easily with this one

Thanks again!
Had it up on the two poster today and found a few things to mess with, I say licking my chops, All the oil seals, possibly exhaust and discs are a bit pitted. So, a bit to do before the spoilers - seriously, no, there will not be any spoilers!
