......................me also diver PADI openwater (and some night dives) - i also dive alone and never have worried (certain co-divers are more dangerous than nobody) BUT don't go deeper than 10m sandy (an accident in my elan is a much larger fear!!)

I never dive alone. I?ve been diving for 40 years all around the world and have had my share of saving someone a few too many times. Which is why I now always carry a ?spare air? emergency tank. Never the less, a buddy is vital.

Here is a video I shot from my trip to Cayman Brac to dive the Russian Frigate 356. It?s 20 minutes long so grab a cup of coffee or a beer. I like to edit my underwater videos to provide the overall experience of a dive. If you have a short attention span, probably not for you.

I too was a diver, from 1960 to 1993, mainly as a member of The University of London Sub-Aqua Club and then the Exul Sub-Aqua Club and finally the Coral Cay Conservation Society.

I've dived many places around the coast of Britain, also Scapa Flow, West Ireland, South of France near Nice, The Azores and the Reefs of Belize.

Solo diving only under carefully controlled conditions usually with a life-line rope, except for my dives on excavating the Mary Rose, where we worked alone down a mud pit but at fixed locations and with safety divers roaming the site. (not totally safe of course that way, but all volunteers were highly competent divers).

My Elan was great for commuting London to Portsmouth every other day for my two-week stint as a Mary Rose volunteer (1983, I think).

any way i have taken the seats out of the elan and the next job is to remove the doors and start to strip the trim and get the bumpers off
